Investigators Recover AR-15 Following Standoff

Three people are in custody following a Felonious Assault that turned into a 3 hour standoff. At approximately 7:20 pm, officers responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Davis Av NW on a report a female who pointed a long gun at several people threatening to shoot them. Upon the officers arrival they discovered the incident was the result of a dispute between neighbors.

The adult female suspect was arrested for Felonious Assault. Prior to recovering the weapon from the residence, two subjects ran into the house and refused to come out.

After 3 hours of bull horn announcements and negotiations, both subjects came out of the residence and were arrested without incident. An adult male and female were charged with Resisting and Obstructing the Investigation. The results of the detective’s investigation will be presented to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office for review on Monday.

Members of the Major Case Team, Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiators were all involved in the incident.

The Grand Rapids Fire Department and AMR were also on scene.
