Over 4,000 people in the greater Grand Rapids area are without power due to high winds.
A pocket of 4,539 people living in Cascade Township will be without power until the late afternoon.
About 150 people in the Lowell area are also without power.
Consumers Energy crews are on the ground in Kent County working to restore power in the area.
Consumers Energy representative Brian Wheeler said that they are hoping to get power restored by 5 p.m., but it could take until midnight tonight. The continuing bad weather might prove to be a challenge for the crews.
The wind and rain might create additional power outages.
