Liquor is a Multi-Million Dollar Business in Michigan

Liquor is a $184.4 million-dollar business in Michigan, when measured by how much booze bars and restaurants purchased in 2016 from the state at wholesale prices for resale.

MLive reports, the city of Detroit is the epicenter of liquor sales in the state, with 40 percent of the top 50 establishments in a ranking of the bars and restaurants purchasing liquor from state wholesalers.

* All but seven bars and restaurants on the Top 50 are from southeast Michigan.

* The Big Old Building - or B.O.B. - made a resurgence, rising to number 2. Six other Grand Rapids bars and restaurants made the Top 50.
