Car pulled from Kalamazoo River; no one inside

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Crews have pulled a car from the Kalamazoo River in Battle Creek.

The car appears to be a Hyundai — the same kind of vehicle thought to  have entered the water more than a week ago. It has serious damage to  the front end.

In a Sunday afternoon release, Battle Creek officials said a  fisherman spotted a vehicle’s bumper near Hamblin Avenue, not far from  where the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers meet. Officials said crews  hurried to the scene in an effort to recover the car before it became  dark.
