Michigan Olympians Retiring From Competition

Ending three years of suspense and the most successful international ice dancing careers by any American skaters, Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, of Ann Arbor, announced Wednesday they will retire from international competition and not compete in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Davis, 30, and White, 29, students at the University of Michigan, are the most accomplished United States ice dancers of all time. They are the first Americans to win the Olympic and world championships, achieving the highest point total in ice dancing in the Olympic event.
