No Asteroids Today

You might have heard reports that a doomsday asteroid is going to crash into Earth, destroying cities. Fortunately, those reports aren't true. The asteroid, 2016 WF9, will pass Earth, but it'll still be 32 million miles away, according to a NASA statement. So why do people think this asteroid is more dangerous than NASA does? There's a conspiracy theory based on the reports of Russia astronomer Dyomin Damir Zakharovich, who believes in a hidden world called Nibiru that the government has covered up. He believes that the asteroid was "one of trillions churning around Nibiru in a cosmic whirlpool" and is far larger, and thus more dangerous, than NASA insists. He said it would hit New York in February It's a planet-sized object also known as Planet X that's supposed to crash into Earth or come very close, triggering the apocalypse. It was first mentioned by Nancy Lieder in 1995, who claims she can talk with aliens through a brain implant, according to NPR
