Martez McLaughlin pled guilty on Feb. 13 to a shooting that killed a man and injured a teenager that took place Sept. 26.
McLaughlin plead guilty on counts of felonious possession of a firearm, murder in the second degree and open murder in a shooting that killed 38-year-old Joseph Banks and injured his 15-year-old step son.
McLaughlin could face anywhere from 27 years to life for the crime.
The shooting occurred in a home in the 1400-block of Eastern Avenue on the city's southeast side. McLaughlin and his uncle, Nathaniel Vance, were at Banks' home when an argument started between the men.
McLaughlin will be sentenced on March 15 at 2 p.m.
