Muskegon Woman Charged with "Acts of Cruelty" to Child

Court documents paint a grim picture of the abuses a Muskegon Township boy allegedly suffered while living with his biological father and stepmother.

Mlive reports, Amber Mae Price is charged with second-degree child abuse in regard to her stepson, who police found wandering barefoot near the Apple Avenue Wesco Gas Station at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 1, 2016. The 9-year-old boy was found to be malnourished, with wounds on his hips and backside.

The boy's biological father, Eric Price, earlier pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2-10 years in prison for beating the child. The Muskegon County Prosecutor's office also has said that the two allegedly conducted acts of "psychological cruelty" to the child.

The boy was allegedly hit with spatulas, spoons and a stick. When examined by the Muskegon Township Police Department, he had three 3-inch-by-3-inch bandages - one on each hip bone, and on one buttock - and had bled through one of the bandages. The child was allegedly "afraid to go home," according to a court document.
