State Police had to search for the victim of a one-car wreck near Muir at Plains and Superior Street around 1:25 a.m. Saturday, but that's because they say the driver speeded up and tried to run from the Trooper.

That car actually did escape pursuit, and the Trooper had turned off his lights and siren, when he found his suspect had wrecked into the trees at a T-intersection.

But no one was in the car although it was evident there were injuiries.

The police dog found the driver lying in the brush and now that person is hospitalized with serious injuries.
