The Big Three 8-15-22

1 A year ago today Biden left Americans behind in Afghanistan.

What’s changed since then?

According to the Washington Post: Women have had their rights stripped away and face increasing violence; poverty and hunger are rising; schools now focus on religion, and Islamic law is increasingly enforced.

2 President Trump called on the FBI Sunday to return documents seized at Mar-a-Lago that are protected by attorney-client and executive privileges.

“Oh great!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“It has just been learned that the FBI, in its now famous raid of Mar-a-Lago, took boxes of privileged ‘attorney-client’ material, and also ‘executive’ privileged material, which they knowingly should not have taken,”

“By copy of this TRUTH, I respectfully request that these documents be immediately returned to the location from which they were taken,” he added. “Thank you!”

3 Author Salman Rushdie is recovering after being attacked onstage.

The 75-year-old, one of the world’s most famous writers, was stabbed multiple times Friday at an event in New York. He has faced death threats for decades over his portrayal of Islam in his 1988 novel “The Satanic Verses.”

He has been taken off a ventilator, Rushdie’s agent said yesterday. A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder.
