Holland could make restaurants pay for outside seating

Holland City Council is considering a plan to use parking spaces for additional outside seating during the summer.

The Holland Downtown Development Authority is considering a permitting process that would allow restaurants to pay for extra space for tables per day.

The permit would run from May 15 through October 1.

Restaurants were able to use the extra space for free during the height of the pandemic.

The proposal would allow restaurants to apply for three parking spaces in front of their building.
