Fire danger with dry, low humidity weather

Firefighters in West Michigan have been on high alert as the weather is creating favorable conditions for brush fires.

Belding Fire Chief Tim Lubitz says low humidity levels along with wind and temperature changes lead to an increase in fire rates.

His department fought a brush fire for six hours Monday night, one of the largest fires of the past decade.

Lubitz says people should avoid any kind of burning right now.
