Train hits Rapid bus, no injuries reported

A Rapids bus driver was able to get all passengers to safety before the bus was hit by a train on Monday.

Around 12:15 p.m. the driver said ice around the train tracks prevented them from crossing and left the bus stuck.

The incident happened on Kalamazoo Avenue north of Alger Street.

The driver tried to flag down the train engineer, who was able to slow the train down to only hit the bus at four mph.
