Nassar resentencing appeal rejected

The Michigan Court of Appeals is denying an appeal to be resentenced by Larry Nassar, a serial sex offender and former Michigan State University doctor.

The vote was split two-to-one with two judges noting Nassar's sentence was within the sentencing agreement made by prosecutors and Nassar's attorneys.

The dissenting judge noted that Ingham County Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina's behavior did not show impartiality.

The decision stated Aquilina made statements that should not have been made but the comments did not violate Nassar's rights.
