Restaurants get penalized after ignoring epidemic order

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued a three-week epidemic order requiring bars and restaurants to close down indoor dining.

Several businesses across the state are now facing penalties after ignoring the orders.

The Michigan Liquor Control Commission has issued an emergency suspension of liquor licenses at Brew Works in Fremont, Jimmy's Roadhouse in Newaygo and The Meeting Place in Fenton.

The businesses will have virtual court hearing to decide if the suspension will continue or if other fines will be issued.
