Local Int'l Women's Day program about 'getting gutsy'

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — West Michigan companies are coming together to host a conference in downtown Grand Rapids Friday to mark International Women's Day.

The keynote speaker will be Vernice "FlyGirl" Armour, the U.S. Marine veteran who was the nation's first African-American female combat pilot.

Some 570 women and men will come together for the sold-out event at DeVos Place Convention Hall, sponsored by Amway, Inforum, Meijer and Wolverine Worldwide.
