Kent County Adoption Day Is December 13th!

On Dec. 13, in Kent County, Samaritas, through its adoption-from-foster-care subsidiary, Lutheran Adoption Service (LAS), will finalize nine long-awaited adoptions for mostly older children, sibling groups and children with special needs.

Every year, Lutheran Adoption Service works to find adoptive homes/forever families for approximately 500 children in foster care. Results are impressive with nearly four out of every five children placed with a forever family within a year or less after they become eligible for adoption, according to Diana Moore, LAS Executive Director.

Approximately 400,000 children are in foster care at any given time. More than 100,000 of them are available to be adopted.

Sam Breals, President of Samaritas, dropped by West Michigan Live to talk about this wonderful occasion and how you can be apart of the adoption process
