Holland Check 'N Go robbed at gunpoint

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are looking for the man who robbed a Check ‘N Go in Holland at gunpoint Tuesday.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. at the Check ‘N Go on Washington Avenue south of 40th Street.

The Holland Department of Public Safety said the suspect showed a handgun and demanded cash. He was last seen leaving the store on foot, heading north. 

The man, who is described to be in his mid- to late 30s, 5-foot-6 with a medium to thin build, was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen wearing a University of Michigan sweatshirt, a black ski mask and sunglasses.

Schools in the area, including Holland Christian High School and Holland High School, have been placed under a soft lockdown as authorities search the area.
