EPA makes Allied Paper Mill site a priority

OTSEGO, Mich. (WOOD) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is picking up the pace in the cleanup of Kalamazoo River near the Allied Paper Mill.

On Tuesday, the EPA announced the stretch of River that spans between Allegan and Kalamazoo counties was added to the organization’s Administrator’s Emphasis List.

The area has been divided into five areas in need of a cleanup, and the EPA has committed to helping speed up the pace of the cleanup process.
