Kent Co. prosecutor expects to drop certain pot cases

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kent County prosecutor says he'll probably stop pursuing certain marijuana cases following the passage of Proposal 1.

The proposal, which passed with 56 percent of the vote in Tuesday's election, legalizes the recreational use of marijuana. In court Wednesday, a Kent County judge sent three pending cases back to Prosecutor Chris Becker for consideration.

Becker confirmed Thursday he would probably drop all the pending pot use and possession cases that his office is handling.
