Mom of 3 questions GRPS busing regulations

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The mother of three Grand Rapids Public Schools students wants to know why they can't take a bus to school.

"It's not safe," Keyawna McAllister told 24 Hour News 8 Tuesday. "I don't feel safe with my kids going up the street, all the way up Division to Burton, just to get to school."

Her kids, ages 9, 10 and 13, walk nearly three miles round trip each day, crossing busy roads on the south side of the city.
