May 8th Election Results

The results are in for the 2018 May 8th elections in West Michigan.

On Tuesday, voters in Kent County approved a 3-mill sinking fund tax for Godfrey-Lee Public Schools in Wyoming, which will provide about $315,000 dollars in its first year for maintenance, safety, and technology. 

Voters also approved a renewal for the 18-mill Kent City Community Schools operating millage as well as a 1-mill sinking fund for the district as well.

In Ottawa County, voters approved every measure on the ballot.  Those measures included an operating millage renewal and sinking tax fund for Hudsonville Public Schools as well as operating millage renewals for West Ottawa Public Schools, Grand Haven Area Schoools, and Zeeland Public Schools.  Voters also said yes to the 1-mill property tax which provides funding for the Holland Community Aquatic Center.

Muskegon County voters approved the $6.9-million bond measure for Holton Public Schools, but turned down the sinking fund proposal for Orchard View Schools.
