Ex-Delton Kellogg HS coach charged with CSC

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Delton Kellogg High School coach is facing a criminal sexual conduct charge after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a student.

William Warren is charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, jail records show.

According to a police report obtained by 24 Hour News 8, a 17-year-old student told a Barry Township detective that Warren, 54, bought her an expensive pair of climbing shoes and took her to two climbing facilities on March 5.

She said he talked about his sex life during the trip, made an inappropriate sexual comment at the first facility in Grand Ledge, and slapped her butt at the second business, Climb Kalamazoo at 136 S. Kalamazoo Mall. The girl said Warren also touched her inner thigh on the ride back home. She said when she confronted him about his behavior, he told her he was attracted to her.

The girl told her counselor she was sexually assaulted by Warren, police said.

Through a lawyer, Warren told a Kalamazoo detective that nothing happened between him and the teen and he denied the allegations, the police report stated.
