RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man originally from Cuba died when his vehicle hit a tree in Montcalm County.
Around 6:07 a.m. Friday, Michigan State Police were called to the scene on Douglas Road near Tamarack Road in Richland Township, east of Edmore. There, they found 33-year-old Misael Valle, who had already died.
The medical examiner determined Valle likely hit the tree between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., hours before the crash was reported to police.
MSP say Valle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the incident.
Valle was from Cuba but was most recently living in Crystal, Michigan.
