MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Rick Snyder has declared a state of disaster due to flooding in Isabella and Midland counties.
State police helicopters and unmanned drones were in the air assessing damage.

Flooding from overnight rain closed 90 roads in the mid-Michigan county. Vehicles also were stuck in flooded parking lots and on some Mount Pleasant streets after up to six inches of rain fell overnight in some areas. No injuries have been reported.
The Mecosta County Emergency Management said Friday afternoon that M-66 is closed from M-20 to M-46 due to possible water erosion damage to culvert. The road will remain closed until the water recedes enough for crews to inspect the damage.
Isabella Administrator Margaret McAvoy said motorists should stay off county roads for at least 24 hours. Police officers were using SUVs instead of patrol cars to navigate flooded roads and streets.
The newspaper reports that forecasters predicted the Chippewa River could peak late Friday at more than 13 feet. The river’s flood stage is eight feet.
