Ada Township officials say a settlement has been reached with the Kent County Drain Commission's Office over a stormwater dumping proposal.
Ada Township filed a lawsuit in 2024 alleging the drain commissioner's office did not properly notify the township or its residents about a proposal to redirect stormwater runoff.
The county's plan involved redirecting runoff from Knapp's Corner into the Cook Drain and the Grand River in Ada Township.
The settlement requires the office to hold a public meeting with the township to discuss the plan.
The meeting will be held on May 29 at 1 p.m.
Township Supervisor Tom Korth says there is concern that the plan could impact property values, home water quality and the Grand River.
