On May 7th, you will need to obtain a Real ID, or else your current driver's license may not be accepted if you intend to fly or enter some federal buildings.
How the law will be enforced on that day is not yet clear, but the Allegan County clerk said not having a Real ID may delay getting through the security line or prevent you from flying.
A valid U.S. passport will work if you do not have a Real ID by the deadline.
