The newly formed Grand Rapids Land Bank is focusing on using vacant properties throughout the city to be used as sites for affordable housing.

Land banks are utilized to manage or sell abandoned, vacant or blighted properties.

Some of the properties can be used or purchased as side lots or parks, but the main goal of the Grand Rapids Land Bank is to use it vacant properties to help meet the need for affordable housing within the city.
