Couple sentenced to prison over identity theft-fraud scheme

A couple will spend years in prison after running an identity theft fraud scheme that led to 40 victims losing over 3-million-dollars.

Gregory Hite was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison while his wife, Bridget Bureau, was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison.

The couple was charged in December 2023 and pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud as well as using other people's identities to get loans for their businesses.

The scheme was carried out between 2016 and 2020.

The couple secured at least 55 fraudulent loans and credit advances worth over $5,443,982.
