Muskegon is approving a cap on short-term rentals.
The city commission approved an ordinance allowing only four percent of housing in each part of the city to be dedicated to short-term rentals starting November 8.
Commissioner Destinee Keener says its a problem with having enough affordable housing in a high-priced market.
City planning documents say no new rental applications will be approved until current rental numbers drop below the four percent threshold.
