Kent County resident contracts West Nile

The Kent County Health Department says the first human case of West Nile virus has been detected this season.

Officials say the resident was hospitalized after they shows symptoms of the infection.

KCHD officials say residents should do their due diligence and protect themselves from mosquitoes when they go outside.

There is no vaccine or cure for West Nile.
