GR residents complain to City Council over water main break damage dispute

Residents from the southeast side of Grand Rapids took their concerns to City Council after a water main break in June affected almost 200 homes.

The break happened on June 13 in the intersection of Adams St SE and Philadelphia St SE.

The city says it is not liable for damage caused by the flood and will not reimburse residents.

City Manager Mark Washington says he empathizes with residents and wants to process to be amicable.
