The Allegan County Commission has appointed a new member following the death of a fellow commissioner.
The board elected commissioner Tom Jessup on Wednesday to fill the seat of Dean Kapenga. Jessup was sworn in on the same day.
Jessup will now represent Casco, Cheshire, Clyde, Ganges, Lee, Manlius and Saugatuck townships. His term is scheduled to end on Dec. 31.
