The Kent County Health Department says a mosquito in the area tested positive for Jamestown Canyon virus.
JCV is one of several diseases that can be spread from mosquitos to humans.
The case was found in the 49504 area code.
The virus was last detected in the area in 2021.
A person infected with JCV can experience a fever, fatigue and headache and in rare cases can develop serious health problems.
