GRPD: People raising money for funeral on streets, most likely a scam

Dozens of people have been spotted across West Michigan asking for money for a funeral of a little girl or boy who died, however police say its most likely a scam.

Individuals have been spotted near Fuller Avenue and Leonard Street, 28th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue and Cascade Road and Forest Hill Avenue.

A GRPD spokesperson says the department has information that this is a traveling group of people looking to solicit money with fraudulent means.

Similar groups have been reported nationwide.
