University of Michigan sets record for applicants

The University of Michigan is setting a new record with more than 105,000 applicants for the Fall 2024 semester.

Michigan says more than 98,400 first-year students applied which is up almost 12 percent from last fall.

The school says they are seeing an increase across a variety of demographics including international students, students from low-income families and more.

Students have until May 1 to formally accept a position at the school.
