Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says 25-year-old Brandon Ortiz-Vite is facing charges in connection to the death of Ruby Garcia.
Garcia's body was found along US-131 near Leonard Street on Friday evening.
Ortiz-Vite is charged with felony murder, carjacking and carrying a concealed weapon.
Federal officials confirm he was deported from the U.S. in 2020 and returned illegally.
Officials say the victim and the suspect were involved in a romantic relationship.
