The Grand Rapids City Commission is appointing its first Asian American commissioner.
Bing Goei was unanimously selected to fill the vacancy created for the Third Ward after Nathaniel Moody resigned at the end of last year.
Goei is an entrepreneur and owns Eastern Floral as well as the Goei Center.
He will serve the remainder of Moody's term.
