Thousands of drivers will soon need to alter their commutes as a major construction project will begin on US-131 this month.
Starting March 31, northbound US-131 will close at 28th Street.
Lane closures will begin at 44th Street to prepare drivers.
At Burton, a single lane will remain open through the downtown area for some traffic to pass through the area.
That project is expected to last for a month.
Then, southbound US-131 will close at Burton for about a month.
Crews will be repairing bridges over Plaster Creek and joint repairs.
