OLIVE TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - John Gibbs has been fired as the administrator of Ottawa County.
Board Chairperson Joe Moss moved to terminate Gibbs' contract for cause as the board determined his conduct "has been dishonest, committed gross misconduct, and/or committed willful malfeasance."
The vote to fire him was 10-1, with Doug Zylstra, a Democrat, being the only "no" vote.
Zylstra said he felt the board needed to do more due process work to substantiate the accusations, which Gibbs has denied.
The job is being posted immediately.
