A study by SafeWise shows the Grand Rapids-Kentwood area is the ninth worst in the nation for package theft.
SafeWise used FBI data and Google trends to rank the ten worst metro areas for package theft in the U.S.
The study claims 55 percent of Michiganders are worried about package theft with 70 percent using a security deterrent like a verified delivery service or porch camera.
The Kent County Prosecutor's Office says from 2021 to 2022, larceny and retail fraud increase from 819 incidents to 1,183 incidents.
