The Michigan Court of Appeals is upholding a sentence of 33 years to 100 years in prison for a man who strangled his pregnant wife.
Richard Guichelaar strangled his wife Amber Guichelaar to death in November 2020 while their two toddler daughters were nearby.
Guichelaar pleaded guilty to assaulting a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or still birth and second-degree murder.
Guichelaar appealed the sentence arguing it was too harsh.
