Police investigating threats against area schools

Police are investigating after several threats against schools in the West Michigan area.

Decatur Public Schools superintendent Patrick Creagan says police contacted the district about a threat at the middle school on Tuesday.

The school was evacuated and no threats were found in the building.

Creagan says police told him the threat came in from someone overseas.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office is investigating four suspected swatting calls that targeted homes and Belmont Elementary.

The threat against the school was found to not be credible.
