GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - A 17-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle on Knapp Street in Grand Rapids Township last night.
It happened after 5 p.m.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office says she was trying to cross the street when she was hit by a westbound sport-utility vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male.
She was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by first responders.
The incident remains under investigation.
