Grand Rapids Public Schools says chief of staff and executive director of public safety and school security Larry Johnson is on paid administrative leave.
Officials say Johnson has been on leave for the last three weeks.
The district says a complaint was made by a parent that Johnson allegedly threatened them during a phone conversation.
An investigation is underway.
