Grand Rapids Police say two GR smoke shops are possibly running a fencing operation and preying on kids to have them commit thefts.
Police searched Flavors Smoke Shop and Flavors and PMC Private Stock last week.
GRPD Chief Eric Winstrom says they cannot directly connect the smoke shops to the killings of three people in the Burton Heights area.
Winstrom says the deaths did increase the urgency of the investigation into the smoke shops.
During one of the searches, Winstrom says they found several stolen items as well as a suspect in a Milwaukee homicide.
