Parents discussing transportation after GRPS building plan released

Grand Rapids Public Schools released a list of 10 schools that could close in the coming years on Monday evening.

That list created a variety of reactions among the community.

GRPS says declining enrollment numbers is leading them to the decision to consolidate schools.

Montessori parent Marta Johnson says she chose the school for her family based on its unique teaching structure and also its walkability.

Johnson says moving to a different school means relying on GRPS for bus services and the district isn't historically great at transportation services.
