KDL wins $250K through national award

The Kent District Library is receiving national recognition for its impact on the community.

KDL is receiving the 2023 Jerry Kline Community Impact Prize.

The award began in 2019 by the Gerald M. Kline Family Foundation and Library Journal and it recognizes a library that is impacting its community in big ways.

The winner must be able to show their impact in inclusion of underserved populations, inventiveness, leadership development and engagement with local government.

The library system will receive $250k and a profile in the library journal.

The system says they are still finalizing plans for how they will spend the award but they want to ensure it is put back into the community.
