Trial is underway for a man who is accused of murdering a woman and dumping her body in West Michigan in 1996.
Gary Artman is accused of raping and murdering Sharon Hammack in October 1996.
During opening statements, Kent County Senior Assistant Prosecutor Blair Lachman said evidence will show Artman had a strong hatred for women.
Defense attorney John Pyrski said there were no witnesses that can confirm Artman committed the crime.
The trial is expected to take a week.
