Kent County approving guidelines for fund helping affordable housing

The Kent County Board of Commissioners is approving guidelines for what they say is the largest affordable housing fund in West Michigan.

The Kent County Affordable Housing Fund totals $58.3 million after a fund match from nonprofit lender IFF.

The loan fund will be available soon to help developments that meet certain criteria.

Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act was used to create the fund.
